Who we are
Aeland is a landscape studio
founded in Barcelona in 2001. We are a multidisciplinary team with experience in ecology, architecture, botany, geography, agronomy and design, working on projects of all scales:

We transform and protect rural environments, farmhouses and rustic land
We bring small-scale projects, such as courtyards and terraces, to life, giving them new value through renaturalisation
We combine the craftsmanship of hand drawing, which allows us to design with sensitivity, with scientific knowledge and the use of the most advanced technologies, which provide us with an analytical and rigorous perspective.
Vegetation and Architecture Working as a Single System
We understand landscape design as the integration of vegetation and architecture into a single whole, where the green element is not accessory, but collaborates with the architectural system and vice versa. This interaction improves the qualities of the whole and promotes biodiversity.
Scientific Knowledge of Agronomy and Botany
A key element is the correct choice of vegetation, both for the uniqueness it brings to the place and for its ecological function. We prioritise the selection of native and adapted vegetation that responds to the needs of the project, with special care for how the landscape will look in each season of the year.
Integral Vision of Projects
We analyse each commission holistically, identifying the challenges and finding the best responses. We take on commissions globally, with solutions that include the planting and irrigation proposal, lighting, the design of swimming pools, pergolas, accesses and furniture elements, and the coordination of the works to ensure the best execution.
Well-being for People and Care for the Environment
A landscape design project is an opportunity to improve people’s well-being and care for the environment. In high-density urban spaces, renaturalisation helps reduce the effects of climate change on people. We develop strategies to increase biodiversity and reduce the carbon footprint and water consumption, considering the life cycle of materials.
Revaluation of Spaces through Sustainability
A sustainable project is one that recognises the characteristics and values of the place to adapt to them, making possible the resilience and durability of the elements that compose it. Creating a sustainable space means revaluing it, establishing a landscape that evolves on its own over time, with the minimum possible interventions.
